E-commerce giant, Amazon.com, is rolling out a customer pick-up option at select warehouses in test markets throughout the United States. The customer will have the ability to pick up an item ordered the same day. This new option is in addition to Amazon Lockers providing the same customer pick up option in select markets.
This latest move by Amazon should bode well for Indianapolis customers. The e-commerce site has a little more than four million square feet of warehouse space in and around the Indianapolis area which fulfill everything from Apple iPad’s to Weber Grill’s. Hence, giving the consumer a wide range of items available for same day customer pick-up.
This latest customer pick-up move by Amazon follows what several Big Box retailers including Target and Lowes have offered for years. If the customer needs the item today, before the close of business, it begs the question, why order an item from Amazon versus a bricks and mortar retailer like Target?
