‘Crossroads of Sports’ Moniker Pays Off for Indy

• In recent decades Indianapolis has emerged as the Crossroads of Sports as it has become a sports hub. It is well known as the home of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Colts, Pacers and the NCAA Headquarters but over the years it has also played host to a series of high-profile events and the investment has paid off.

• Since 1979 Indianapolis has hosted more than 400 national and international sporting events, including Super Bowl  XLVI, 17 U.S. Olympic Team Trials and 55 NCAA Championship events and as a result, the city benefitted from an estimated $3 billion direct economic return between 1997 and 2007
